Use in explosion-prone zones
The liquefied gas pump must not be insulated. If it is insulated, however, the
equipment manufacturer must determine the temperature class of the equip-
ment accordingly.
For the compression of ideal gases, the maximum expected temperature can be
calculated using the formula for adiabatic status change:
Legend:
T
= input temperature
A
T
= output temperature
B
p
= inlet pressure
A
p
= outlet pressure
B
κ = isentropic exponent
The isentropic exponent κ can be found in the corresponding tables for common
gases.
Since the compression takes place as part of the heat exchange with the environ-
ment, the actual temperature will always be below the calculated temperature.
Consider the full range of operating conditions. A drop in the primary pressure p
leads, for example, to an increase in the maximum expected temperature T

Operation and maintenance
Static electricity on the product can lead to explosions. This may result in severe
or fatal injuries.
Never use high-power mechanisms for charge generation on or near the product.
The possibility of an explosive atmosphere must be excluded before undertaking
any and all work on the product – maintenance, cleaning or any other activity.
In order to ensure adequate safety during regular operation and in the event of
foreseeable errors, the function of the product and compliance with the thresh-
olds specified in these instructions must be monitored accordingly.
In doing so, the maintenance activities must be carried out at intervals that are
appropriate for the application.
For safe operation, the devices may no longer be used after the leakage thresh-
olds have been exceeded.
