Firmware updates and configuration files

After a software upgrade, a pop-up window may appear indicating the availability of a new firmware version
(see Figure 23). Do not hesitate to install the update as it includes important recent improvements for the unit.

Updates of firmware version ≥ 1.26 require a configuration file after the first launch. Normally, the latest
ICMflex units are configured at the factory. If you update from an older version, a pop-up will appear as shown
in Figure 24. To receive a configuration file for your device, please contact the Power Diagnostix software
department (software@pdix.com) and indicate the instrument's serial number.
Once stored into the device, this configuration does not
need to be repeated anymore in future. The configuration
file contains all important information of the instrument
such as the capacitor values according to the voltage
calibration, Cn and Csn and the shunt capacitor Csx high
and low. These settings can always be cross checked via
the menu 'Edit-> Advanced Settings' (see Figure 25).
Firmware and configuration files can be uploaded by us-
ing the device update function, available via the menu
'Tools->Device Information'. A screenshot of the update
tool is shown in Figure 26. A firmware file is identified by
the extension '.bin', a configuration file by the extension
'.cfg'.
After a successful upload the communication with the instrument
will shortly be interrupted and re-established automatically after
rebooting the acquisition box.
