You can enter a name (index name) of up to 8
characters
for preset st_tions and program
sources. These names (tbr example,
"VHS')
_ppear in 1he receiver's
display when a station
or program source is selected.
Note that no
more than one name can be entered for each
preset st_tion or progr_un source.
This function
is useful for distinguishing
components
of the same kind.
For example,
two VCRs can be specified
_s "VHS" and
"SMM',
respectively.
It is also handy tbr
identifying
components
connected
to jacks
meant for _mother type of component,
for
example,
a second CD player connected
to the
MD/FAPE
jacks.

Select the program source (component)
to be named.
2 Press NAME.
3 Create an index name by using MENU +
or MENU-and
MENU <(or MENU _> :
Press MENU + or MENU - to select a
ch*_racter, then press MENU > to move the
cursor to the next position.
TO insert
a space
Press MENU + or MENU - until _ blank
space *_ppears in the displ*_y.

made
a mistake
Press MENU
<_ or MENU _> repeatedly
until the ch_racter
to be changed
flashes,
then press MENU + or MENU - to select
the right character.

Press ENTER.
5 Repeat steps 2 to 4 to assign index
name for another station or program
source.

YOU cannot change tile name of an RDS station.
Before you begin, m;_ke sure you've connected
*dl components
properly.
Recording
on an audio tape
or MiniDisc
You can record on a cassette tape or MiniDisc
using the receiver.
See the operating
instructions
of your cassette deck or MD deck
if you need help.

Select the component to be recorded.
2 Prepare the component for playing.
For example,
insert a CD into the CD
player.
3 Insert a blank tape or MD into the
recording deck and adjust the
recording level, if necessary.

Start recording on the recording deck,
then start playback on the playback
component.
Notes
• Sound adjustments do not affect the signal output
from the MD/TAPE OUT jacks.
• When MULTI CH IN is selected, tile analog audio
signals of the ctlrrent function is otltpul from the
REC OUT jacks (HT=DDW840 only).
