  • Page 5 F3S-B WARNING The F3S-B is a TYPE 2 Electro-sensitive protective equipment, intended to be used as or with the safety related part of control system to category 2,1, or B as defined in the European standard EN954-1. Do not use the F3S-B in category 3 or 4 systems. Do not use the F3S-B on machines that cannot be stopped by electrical control in case of an emergency.

S = K x T + C S : Safety distance K : Intrusion speed into the detection zone T : Total response time for the machine and light curtain C : Additional distance calculated or defined based on the optical resolution of the light curtain When safety distance is not provided by European standards for individual machine, the distance can be calculated using EN 999.

Failure to do so will cause detection to fail and may result in serious injury.     F3S-B TROUBLESHOOTING Section 8 The F3S-B runs internal self-tests after the power is turned ON and while the F3S-B is in normal opera- tion. The external test is also available. If a failure is detected, a corresponding flicker pattern is indicated by the red LED (OFF-state indicator) of the receiver.
