Camera Care
Guard
against getting
fingerprint
stains on
the
dust
cover over
the
image
detecting
windows as
it
can impair
autofocusing
accuracy.
To
clean stained
cover,
gently
wipe
it with lens
cleaning
tissue moistened with
some
lens
cleaning
fluid, not
by
a vigorous
rubbing
action
.
To
remove
dust and
dirt,
use
a
blower
brush
.
Avoid leaving
camera
in hot places
such as on a hot
summer
beach
or
in
a car
under direct
sunlight as
it
will
not
only
impair film
and battery
performance but will
even adversely affect
the
camera's
internal mechanism
.
When
cleaning
the
automatic
lens barrier
and
camera
body,
wipe
gently
with a soft cloth
.
Never use
benzene,
thinners
or other organic
solvents.
After using it at the
seaside
or in a dusty area, wipe
the
camera clean
.
Salt air will have a
corrosive
effect
on
the
camera,
and sand
and dust
will
be harmful to the
camera
mechanism.
The
camera
houses a high-voltage
circuit
which is
hazardous. In
case of camera
malfunction,
NEVER take
it upon
yourself
to disassemble the
camera.
If the flash unit is not used for
a
long
period,
test the
flash
occaSionally
to maintain
capacitor
performance.

Battery
Precautions>
When not using the
camera
for
a
long
period,
remove the batteries to prevent damage from
battery
leakage.
Battery
performance
is
affected
at
very low
temperatures.
When
shooting in a cold
area,
keep the
batteries
warm
by
sheltering
the
camera
inside
your
garment.
Also,
it would
be advisable
to take
along a spare set of
batteries with
you
.
Wipe
both ends of
the batteries
clean before
putting
them into
service.
Stained
battery contacts
may
cause
poor electrical contact.
