4.2.9. Selecting the Serial Data Type
The serial data interface of the 7707MT-HD is configurable as RS-422, RS-232, or RS485. To select the
data type, select the CTRL (Control) menu item in menu level 1, followed by the SER (Serial Data),
followed by the TYPE (Data Type).

To select the serial data rate, select the CTRL (Control) menu item in menu level 1, followed by the SER
(Serial Data), followed by the RATE (Baud Rate). The following list describes the possible user selections

4.2.11. Configuring the Serial Data Fail Safe Bias
RS-485 applications sometimes require a failsafe bias at the serial data interface, to ensure a known
signal state while communications are in an idle state. The 7707MT-HD provides a configurable failsafe
bias to accommodate such requirements. To configure the failsafe bias, select the CTRL (Control) menu
item in menu level 1, followed by the SER (Serial Data), followed by the BIAS (Failsafe Bias).
