Using "Memory Stick'-introduction
Formatting the supplied "Memory Stick"
Formatting with this camcorder is not requiled. The "Memory Stick" has been
formatted in tile FAT fbrmat at fi_ctory.
"Memory Stick" supplied with your camcorder
• Sample images are recorded in the "Memory Stick" (p. 84). Note that these images will
be deleted if you format the "Memory Stick."
• Stick the supplied label on the labeling position to prevent tile accidental erasure. As
for the labeling position, see tile illustration on tile previous page.
"Memory Stick"s formatted by a computer
"Men-lory Stick"s formatted by Windows OS oi"Macintosh con-lputers do not have a
guaranteed compatibility with this can-lcorder.
Notes on image data compatibility
• Image data files recorded on "Memory Stick"s by yotn can-lcorder confk0rm with the
Design Rules for Camera File Systems universal standard established by the JEIDA
(Japan Electronic Industry Development Association). You cannot play back on your
camcorder still images recorded on other equipment (DCR TRV890E/TRVg00/
TRVg00E or DSC DT00/D770) that does not confi0rm with this universal standard.
(These models are *lot sold in some areas.)
• If you cannot use the "Memo W Stick" that has been used on other equipment, fbrmat
tile "Memo W Stick" on your camcorder fi011owing tile steps on page 67. Note that all
images on the "Memory Stick" will be deleted if you fbrmat it.
