Focusing
manually
You
can gain
hetter
results
by manually
adjusting
the focus
in the following
cases:
• Tile
autof}Jcus
mode
is not effective
when
shooting:
subjects
through
glass
coated
with
water
droplets.
horizontal
stripes.
subjects
with
little
contrast
with
backgrounds
such
as walls
and
sky.
• When
you want
to change
the focus
from
a subject
ill tile
foreground
to a subject
in the
background.
• Shooting
a stationary
subject
when
using
a tripod.
(1) Set FOCUS
to MANUAL
in CAMERA
or MEMORY
(DCR-TRV320
only)
mode.
The LFFindicator
appears
on the LCD screen
or in the viewfinder.
(2) Turn
the fbcus ring to sharpen
fiJcus.

SetFOCUSto
AUTO.
To record
distant
subjects
When you press FOCIIS down
to INFINITY.
The lens focuses
on infinity and IA
indicator
appears.
When you release FOCUS, your camcorder
returns
to the manual
%cus mode. Use this mode when your camcorder
%cuses on near objects even though
you are trying to shoot a distant object.
To focus
precisely
Adjust the zoom by filst f_ocosing at the "T" (telephoto)
position
and then shooting
at
the "W" (wide angle) position.
This makes fbcusing
easier.
When you shoot close to the subject
Focus at the end of the "W" (wide angle) position.
(F_ changes
to the following
indicators:
Jl when recording
a distant
subject.
when the subject is too close to f}acos on.
