Tips
The instrument illumination (for dia ls and
needles) lights on when the ign it ion is
switched on and the vehicle lights are
turned off. As the daylight fades, the illu-
m ination of the dials likewise dims auto -
mat ically and will go out comp lete ly when
the outside light is very low . This feat ure is
meant to remind you to switch on the
headlight s when outsi de lig ht condi ti ons
become poor.

When the sun shade is in the lowered posi-
tion, it is secured in the retainer @ .

Do not use the sun shade to secure cargo .
The luggage compartment cover is not a
surface for storing objects . Objects placed
on the cover could endanger all vehicle oc-
cup-ants dur ing sudden braking maneuvers
or in a crash.

sponding position:

Rain sensor mode . The windsh ield wipers
swit ch on once the vehicle speed exceeds ap-
proximate ly 2 mph (4 km/h) and it is raining .
The higher t he rain sensor sensiti vity is set
(sw itch @ to the right), the earl ier th e wind-
shield wipe rs react t o moisture on the w ind-
shield. You can deact ivat e rain sensor mode in
t he MMI, which will then activate interm ittent
mode. Select :
I CAR I
funct ion button> (Car)*
systems contro l button > Driver assist > Rain
sensor > Off . In interm ittent mode, you can
adjust the interval time using the switch @ .
