When the .
symbol illuminates, you can al-
ter your driving style to assist the filter self-
clean ing process . Drive for approximately 15
minut es wit h the selector lever in the S posi-
tion at a minimum speed of 37 mph (60 km/
h) and an engine speed of app roximately
2,000 RPM. The tempe ratu re increase th at
will resu lt fro m t his can burn off t he soot in
the filt er. The symbol will switch off when the
clean ing is successf ul. After a successful
cleaning, there is no need to bring the car to
an author ized dealer or qualif ied workshop
because this is part of normal vehicle opera-
tion.

Engine speed limitation

The engine speed is automatically limited to
the speed disp layed in the driver information
system. This protects t he engine from over-
heat ing.
The engine speed limitation deactivates once
the eng ine is no longer in the crit ical tempera-
ture range and you have released t he accelera -
tor peda l once.
If t he engine speed limitation was act ivated
by an eng ine control malfunction, the indica-
tor light ~
also tu rns on. Make sure that the
speed does not go above the speed disp layed.
Drive to your authorized Audi dealer immedi-
ate ly to have the ma lfunction corrected.

the symbol illuminates, contact your au-
t horized Audi dea ler and have the oil sensor
inspected . Until you have this done, check t he
oil level each time you refue l just to be on the
safe side
