Note
Driving with an insufficient oi l level is like-
ly to cause severe damage to the engine.

Tips
- The oil pressure warning display. is
not an indicator of the oil level. Do not
rely on it. Instead , check the oil level in
your engine at regular intervals, pref-
erably each t ime you refuel, and always
before going on a long trip.
- If you have the impression your engine
consumes excessive amo unts of oi l, we
recommend that yo u consult your Audi
dealer to have the cause of your concern
prope rly diagnosed. Keep in mind t hat
t he accurate measurement of oil con-
sump t ion requires great care and may
ta ke some t ime. Your Audi dealer has in-
str uctions about how to measure oil con-
sumption accurate ly.

Add engi ne oil if the bar of the oil level indi-
cator is near "m in" ¢ page 232 .
Depending on the way the vehicle is driven
and the operating conditions, oil consumpt ion
can be up t o 1/2 quart per 600 miles (0.5 liter
per 1,000 km) . Consumption may be hig her
within the first 3,000 miles (5,000 km) .

Tips
The oil level indicator in t he MMI Display is
only an information display. If t he oil level
is low, a min imum oil warn ing appears in
the instr ument cluster. Add oil
¢ page 232 . If th e hood has been opened ,
the cur rent oil level is shown in the instru -
ment cluste r th e next t im e t he ignit ion is
switc hed on.
