ECOPUFFER HP

1. INTRODUCTION

ECOPUFFER HP is a vertical puffer tank intended for the storage of technical water (non-potable) for heating or cooling
systems.
Tanks with available capacities from 52 to 106 liters.
The thermal insulation uses polyurethane foam (30 mm). The exterior is in painted sheet metal.

1.1 Place of installation

The place of installation must be protected against frost and bad weather.
The storage tank must be placed in the immediate vicinity of the generator, to avoid pointless heat loss.
Suitably insulate the feed pipes.

2. INSTALLATION

2.1 General instructions

• Make sure the rooms used for installation have sufficient openings to allow passage of the storage tanks without requiring
any kind demolition at the entry and exit.
• Start installing the puffer by reading the Use and Assembly Manual supplied with the product.
• If the puffer is installed in a closed system, an expansion vessel must be installed. If already installed, its capacity must
be related to the type of installation.
• Overpressure from the puffer is removed via the relief valve (not supplied). The relief valve outlet must not be blocked.
If water constantly comes out of the relief valve, it means that the pressure in the water system is higher than the per-
missible limit, or the relief valve is faulty if the pressure in the system is within the parameters. The discharge should be
directed downwards and preferably connected to the drainage system. The manufacturer is not responsible for relief
valve malfunction caused by incorrect installation and use.
• The puffer must not come into contact with heat sources, as this could damage the external casing and the thermal
insulation.
• All maintenance and installation work must be carried out by authorized personnel and in compliance with current health
and safety regulations.
• It is advisable to install the puffers near the main heating source, to avoid unnecessary heat loss in the pipes.
• The system pressure must not exceed the maximum puffer operating pressure.
• Make sure the storage tank is always installed upright.

2.2 Plumbing connections

Make the relevant connections according to the diagram in fig. 3-4 and the symbols given on the unit.
The connection piping between the hot water tank and relief valve must absolutely not be shut off, as damage to the hot
water tank could occur due to overpressure.
THE RELIEF VALVE OUTLET MUST BE CONNECTED TO A FUNNEL OR COLLEC-
TION PIPE TO PREVENT WATER SPURTING ONTO THE FLOOR IN CASE OF OVER-
PRESSURE IN THE HOT WATER TANK CIRCUIT. OTHERWISE, IF THE DISCHARGE
VALVE CUTS IN AND FLOODS THE ROOM, THE MANUFACTURER CANNOT BE
HELD LIABLE.

2.3 Wall mounting bracket installation

ECOPUFFER HP 80 and 100 can be wall mounted or floor standing on the adjustable feet supplied as standard.
ECOPUFFER HP 50 can only be wall mounted.
