Camera Configurations
This section provides general guidelines and best practices for the cameras placement and installation.
Take in to account the follow best practices for camera installation:
• One lane per camera.
• Camera aiming is done with the infrared camera, not the color camera.
• Cameras should be positioned before attempting to perform LPR scanning.
• Camera focal lengths are selected based on the use case scenarios in the Configuration Examples.
• Use the CarDetector Mobile "Camera Aiming Tool" for aiming assistance.
In the following table, the last two digits of the camera part number on the label are the focal length in
millimeters of the camera. Each camera type has an effective range that serves a specific purpose.
