    MINIMUM SWITCH CURRENT Minimum switch current for the 40-587B is dependent upon usage. The relay type used in this module has gold plated contacts, a metal that does not tarnish with time and is usually considered well suited for low level switching.

  • Page 16 HARDWARE INTERLOCK The 40-587B-001-HI module has an interlock feature that can be used to return the relays (assuming they are fully functional) to their default unpowered state if the interlock connector is not in place or if the connection between the two interlock pins is open-circuit.

    PROGRAMMING THE VERY HIGH DENSITY MATRIX The 40-587B is a single pole switching matrix with 16 connections on the X-axis and 16 connections on the Y-axis. Connections are made by operating the relays at the crosspoints between X and Y lines allowing single X-Y connections, or X-X connections using a Y line as a path.

    USING THE IVI DRIVER, DIRECT DRIVER OR VISA DRIVER This section provides some code fragments which show how to control the 40-587B Very High Density Matrix using the IVI Driver, Direct I/O Driver or the VISA Driver. Once the drivers are installed the manual “Sys40Prg.pdf” and driver help files which fully describes these functions can be found in the Pickering folder(s) or the Pickering entries on your Start Menu.
