• All flooring and hearth material must remain below the
bottom of the surround. See Figure 8.5.
• Combustible flooring may be located in front of the
appliance. Exception - no vinyl / adhesive flooring. See
Figure 8.6.
• 1/2 inch gap under the bottom of the front must be
maintained. See Figure 8.4.
• A minimum 1/4 inch gap from the bottom of the appliance
to the metal floor of the solid fuel firebox is REQUIRED.
See side view in Figure 8.7.
• Combustible flooring underneath the appliance is
acceptable with a 1/4 inch gap. See Figure 8.7.
