BRAKE OPERATION
If tractor requiresmorethan five (5) feet to
stop at highestspeed in highestgear on a
level, dry concreteor paved surface, then
brakemustbe checkedandadjusted,(See
"TO CHECK BRAKE"in the Serviceand
Adjustmentssectionof this manual)°
TIRES
. Maintain proper air pressurein all tires
(Seesides of tire for proper PSI)..
• Keeptires free of gasoline,oil, or insect
controlchemicalswhichcanharmrubber.
• Avoid stumps, stones,deep ruts, sharp
objectsandotherhazards thatmaycause
tire damage,,
NOTE: To seal tire puncturesand prevent
flat tires dueto slowleaks,tire sealantmay
be purchasedfrom your localparts dealer,
Tire sealant also preventstire dry rot and
corrosion°
OPERATOR PRESENCESYSTEMAND
REVERSEOPERATIONSYSTEM(ROS)
Be sure operator presence and reverse
operationsystemsareworkingproperly. If
yourtractordoesnotfunctionas described,
repairthe problemimmediately_
• The engine should not start unless the
brake pedal is fully depressed,and the
attachmentclutchcontrolis in the disen-
gaged position.

• Whenthe engineis running,any attempt
by the operatorto leavethe seat without
first settingthe parkingbrakeshouldshut
off the engine.
. When the engine is runningand the at.-
tachmentclutch is engaged,anyattempt
by the operatorto leave the seat should
shut off the engine
• Theattachment c lutchshouldneveroper-
ate unlessthe operatoris in the seat,
CHECK REVERSE OPERATION(ROS)
SYSTEM
. Whentheengineisrunning withtheignition
switchinthe engine"ON"positionandthe
attachment c lutchisengaged,anyattempt
by the operatorto go into reverseshould
shut off the engine
ROS "ON" Position
Engine "ON" Position
(Normal Operating)
. When the engine is running with the ignition
switch in the ROS "ON" position
and the
attachment
clutch is engaged,
any attempt
by the operator
to shift into reverse should
NOT shut off the engine,
BLADE
CARE
For best results mower blades must be kept
arp,
Replace
bent or damaged
blades,
CAUTION:
Use only
a replacement
blade approved
by the manufacturer
of your
tractor,
Using a blade not approved
by the
manufacturer
of your tractor
is hazardous,
could
damage
your
tractor
and void your
warranty,
BLADE
REMOVAL
!.
Raise mower to highest position to allow
access to blades
NOTE:
Protect
your hands with gloves
and/or wrap blade with heavy cloth.

Remove
blade bolt by turning
counter-
clockwise
3.
Install new blade with stamped
"THIS
SIDE UP" facing deck and mandrel
assembly.
IMPORTANT:
To ensure
proper assembly,
center hole in blade must align with star
on mandrel
assembly_
4.
Install and tighten blade bolt securely
(45-55 Ft. Lbs. torque),,
Mandrel
