BIOS maintenance
This section provides information about upgrading the BIOS, clearing the BIOS password, clearing
CMOS, BIOS recovery, and a BIOS jumper description.
Upgrading the BIOS using UEFI shell
The flash memory update utility loads a fresh copy of the BIOS into flash ROM. This utility only updates
the BIOS region.
BIOS update utility: AfuEfix64.efi
Boot the system to the UEFI Shell environment and execute the following command to update the BIOS.
BIOS command usage:
AfuEfix64.efi <BIOS ROM File Name>[Option 1][Option 2]
or
AfuEfix64.efi <Output BIOS ROM File Name><Commands>
Commands
Use the mandatory field to select an operation mode.

/O Save current ROM image to file
o
/U Get and display ROM ID from BIOS ROM file
o
/S Refer to Option: /S
o
/D Verification test of given ROM File without flashing BIOS
o
/A Refer to Option: /A
o
OAD Refer to Option: /OAD
o
/CLNEVNLOG Refer to Option: /CLNEVNLOG
Options
Use the optional field to supply more information for flashing the BIOS ROM. The following lists the
supported optional parameters and format:

/Q Silent execution
o
/X Do not check ROM ID
o
/CAF Compare ROM file's data with Systems is different or not; if not then cancel related update
o
/S Display current system's BIOS ROM ID
o
/HOLEOUT Save specific ROM Hole according to RomHole GUID
NewRomHole1.BIN/HOLEOUT:GUID

/SP Preserve Setup setting
o
/Rn Preserve SMBIOS type N during programming (n = 0-255)
o
/R Preserve all SMBIOS structures during programming
o
/B Program Boot Block
o
/P Program Main BIOS

/K Program all non-critical blocks and ROM Holes
o
/N Program NVRAM
o
/Kn Program n'th non-critical block or ROM Hole only (n = 0-15)
o
/HOLE Update specific ROM Hole according to RomHole GUID
