8) GEAR SELECTION

The Element 50 magnetic drill is fitted with a 2 speed gearbox. The gear is used to reduce the
output speed when using larger cutters.

9) MAGNET OPERATION
1. Place the magnetic drill on the workpiece, ensuring the machine is in a stable position.
2. To turn the magnets, on rotate the activating ratchet handles as in the image seen below.
3. For positioning only, move the ratchet handles around 90°.
4. During operation always ensure the ratchet handles are set to maximum.
5. Only when the ratchet handles are rotated a full 180°, can the magnet be judged to be fully
off or on.
ONLY WHEN FULL MAGNETIC ADHESION IS JUSTIFIED BY ROTATING THE RATCHET HANDLES TO
MAXIMUM, SHOULD THE MOTOR BE POWERED ON.
