Installing the Bottom Kingpin
Parts needed for this procedure:
4 Bottom kingpin
4 Socket-head bolt (14 x 40 mm)
8 Kingpin shim—0.005 inch (optional)
8 Kingpin shim—0.010 inch (optional)
8 Kingpin shim—0.015 inch (optional)
12 Socket-head bolt
Procedure
1. Remove any paint and clean the upper and lower
surfaces on the hub in the locations shown in
Top (left) and Bottom (right) Views of the Hub
1. Clean here.
2. Install the bottom kingpin to the bottom of the hub
with 3 socket-head bolts as shown in

1. Bottom kingpin
3. Torque the socket-head bolts to 135 to 165 N∙m (100
to 120 ft-lb).
4. Adjust the bottom kingpin according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
5. Remove and discard 2 of the 3 socket-head bolts from
the bottom kingpin at the locations shown in
