Installing the Sprocket Thirds
and the Track
Parts needed for this procedure:

Procedure
1. Align the 3 sprocket thirds together on the floor
(Figure
17).
Note: This is a necessary step because the sprocket
thirds are not symmetrical and therefore fit together
only 1 way.

2. Assemble a sprocket third onto the wheel lugs and
loosely install the lug nuts
(Figure

Note: It is easier to slide the sprocket third between
the main tube and the track-adjuster mechanism.
3. Install the track over the sprockets and under the
chassis frame.
Note: Note the orientation of the track pattern. To
make installing the track easier, apply soapy water or
mineral oil to the teeth of the track.
Note: Using a hoist to lift the track makes installing
it easier.
4. Start the machine and rotate the sprocket third to the
top position.
5. Assemble another sprocket third, rotate it to the side
position, and loosely install the lug nuts.
6. Assemble the final sprocket third and loosely install
the lug nuts.
7. Secure the sprockets together using 6 sets of fasteners
that consist of a bolt (16 x 40 mm), 2 washers, and a
hex nut (16 mm) each
Note: Torque the bolts and nuts to 255 to 311 N-m
(188 to 230 ft-lb).
