3. Leave the firmware upgrade tape in the drive mouth, then power down the
library.
4. Move the library to a position that provides easy access to the front and rear of
the library.
5. Locate the configuration switches on the rear of the library.
6. Write down the settings of the library configuration switch and the SCSI ID
switch. (In this example, assume the settings are library configuration 0 and
library SCSI ID 3.)
7. Use a small screwdriver to turn the library configuration switch to 4 and the
library SCSI ID switch to 7.
Completing the Load of the Firmware Upgrade Tape
1. With the library door open during this step, power on the library.
2. Gently push the firmware upgrade tape so that it loads into the drive for the
final code-load. The library begins the firmware update process, during which
time the picker parks at the bottom of the library, and its LED turns amber for
the duration of the firmware upgrade. This process typically requires less than
five minutes. When the drive ejects the tape, all of the firmware upgrade tape's
code is loaded and your firmware load is complete.
• If the tape doesn't automatically eject from the drive: make sure the
picker is parked at the bottom of the library, then press Eject on the
front of the drive.
3. Remove the tape from the drive.
4. Turn off the power to the library
Resetting Original Values
1. Use a small screwdriver to return the switches to their original position. (In this
example set the library configuration switch to the default position of 0 and the
library SCSI ID to 3.)
2. Turn on the power to the library, making sure it initializes in its usual pattern.
At this point you are ready to replace your AIT-3 or AIT-4 drives with AIT-5 drives.
