Remove the Swivel Bearing

1. See Figure 35. Remove the two screws and washers holding the swivel
connector to the pivot sleeve.

2. Remove the swivel connector and conical spring from the pivot sleeve.
3. Remove the retaining ring from the thrust bearing using snap-ring pliers.
4. Remove the thrust bearing and retaining ring.
5. See Figure 36. Slide the pivot sleeve off the gun body.
6. Inspect the sleeve bearing for tears or worn spots and replace if
necessary. Apply high-temperature grease to the gun body.

Reinstall the Swivel Bearing

1. Wrap the sleeve bearing around the gun body, and apply
high-temperature grease to the outside of the sleeve bearing.
2. Slide the pivot sleeve onto the gun body and sleeve bearing.
3. Inspect the swivel connector, o-ring, and backup ring for pitting,
hardening, or other damage. Replace if damaged.
