Eg. If the copy is as shown in the figure, move the exposure con-
trol plate a in the B direction to achieve the exposure balance.
(11) Adjusting the Copy Lead Edge
To adjust the copy lead edge, use simulation 50-01 or 50-02.
(Normal copy) Image loss 0 ∼ 4mm, void area 1 ∼ 4mm
[When using simulation 50-01]
Use the tray select key to select a suitable mode (manual paper
feed or tray paper feed), and use the sorter key to select the input
item of each preset value. The magnification ratio display shows
items listed in the table below:

Adjusting procedure
(Common to the manual paper feed and
the tray paper feed)
1 Set a scale on the original table.
2 C → =↵ → 0/g → =↵ →
1 → PSW Perform the above key operations to execute
simulation 50. When the ready lamp is lighted, the previously set
value (1 ∼ 99) is displayed simultaneously. (RRC-A content)
3 Set the values of *A and *B to 0, and make copies at 100%
and 200% magnification ratio.
0/g → 0/g → e → 0/g → 0/g → PSW
(A copy is made at 100%.)
ENLARGE (After shifting the lens, the machine goes into
the ready state.) (A copy is made at 200%.)
4 Measure the distance from the paper lead edge to the image
(scale) lead edge and obtain RRC-A and RRC-B from the for-
mula below.
If the preset value of RRC-A is not appropriate, the lead edge
positions of the both images differ from each other. RRC-B is the
preset value to adjust RRC ON timing to align the lead edge of
the drum image and the lead edge of the transfer paper.
L1 --- Lead edge deviation at 200% (mm)
L2 --- Lead edge deviation at 100% (mm)
RRC-A = 4.7222 x (L1 – L2)
RRC-B = 6.8966 x L2 – 3.4483 x L1
5 Using the ten keys, input the values of RRC-A and RRC-B.
(Similarly to procedure 3.)
6 Make copies at 50%, 100%, and 200%, and check the deviation
at each magnification ratio (about 1mm). If the deviation is con-
siderably greater, repeat procedures from (3).
7 Make a copy at 100% and check that the lead edge image loss
is within 0 ∼ 4mm. If not, change the content of \RRC-B so that
the image loss is within the above range.
(Note) The above adjustment value of the image loss is only for
simulation, and is not the final adjustment value.
8 Set a scale and A3 (11" x 17") white paper on the original table
as shown in the figure.
