Chapter 3: Commissioning

Programming the ECU

The ECU uses two addresses on the addressable loop. These are configured
using the DIP switches on the main board (see "Addressing" on page 19).
The output address prefixes are determined by which loops connect to the ECU.
The prefix for the extinguishing relay address is determined by the loop
number connected to ADD A (+) and (-) terminals of the surge suppression
board.
The prefix for the coincidence connection relay address is determined by the
loop number connected to ADD B (+) and (-) terminals of the surge
suppression board.
The examples in the following pages illustrate the following configurations:
Two addressable loops used with the ECU activated from one zone on each
loop.
Two addressable loops used with the ECU activated by groups of individual
detectors on each loop.
One addressable loop used with the ECU activated by groups of individual
detectors on the same loop.
One addressable loop used with the ECU activated by zones defined for
detectors on the same loop.
Note:
The double knock facility is mechanically provided by relays connected to
the two addresses used by the ECU. All software programming to these
addresses used by the ECU is for single knock activation.
