Specification:
The loudspeaker shall be of the two-way type
comprising a single surface mount enclosure
containing one 5¼" (133mm) polypropylene
low frequency transducer and one
polycarbonate high frequency transducer.
Frequency response shall be 65Hz – 20kHz.
Total power handling shall be 40 watts RMS
and 60 watts program. Sensitivity measured
with 2.83 volts input at 1 meter on-axis
averaged between 65Hz – 20kHz shall be
88dB. The unit shall be supplied with a line
matching transformer suitable for 100 volt or
70 volt operation with a rear mounted control
allowing user selectable power taps of 16W,
8W, 4W, 2W and a 8 ohm bypass.
The enclosure and baffle shall be injection
molded using fire-rated ABS that meets
UL94V-0. Wire shall be terminated on the rear
of the enclosure.
The system shall include a powder-coated
aluminum C-bracket for mounting the speak-
er.
External dimensions shall be 6
width x 9 3 / " (238mm) height x 6½" (165mm)

depth. Each enclosure with mounting bracket
shall weigh 8 lbs. (3.63 kg) per unit.
The loudspeaker shall be the Sound Advance
Prommercial SM516B (black) or SM516W
(white). No other system shall be acceptable
unless the above combined performance
specifications are equaled or exceeded.

The Sound Advance
speaker designed for a variety of outdoor and indoor commercial/professional

installations. The SM516's 5¼" polypropylene cone woofer and

dome tweeter ensure superior-quality sound in foreground music, public address
and paging applications. The SM516's 90-degree dispersion is extremely consis-
tent throughout its operating bandwidth (see polar response graphs on page 2),
allowing fewer speakers to deliver quality sound over large areas.
The SM516 comes with a C-shaped mounting bracket that allows the speaker to
be installed in a wide variety of locations. Adjustable bracket knobs allow the
installer to direct the speaker's output where needed. Connection is made via a
barrier strip terminal with loop-thru. The SM516 is transformer-coupled, with 16W,
8W, 4W 2W taps for both 70V and 100V operation, and 8-ohm bypass.
The SM516 has a rugged, weather-resistant ABS enclosure and baffle that meet
UL94V-0 fire rating standards and a paintable perforated aluminum grille, and is
available on black (SM516B) and white (SM516W).
Warranty:
Sound Advance
of workmanship for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase. During the
warranty period, Sound Advance will repair or replace (at its option) all such defects
without charge for parts or labor, if returned prepaid to the proper Sound Advance
