Video Mixing Renderer (VMR9)
VMR9 is a video technology that may improve video performance on computers that support this feature (typically available on PCs running Microsoft®
Windows XP or later). SlingPlayer can use VMR9 only if your computer's video card and drivers support it. By default, SlingPlayer attempts to use VMR9.
Minimum Requirements. To use VMR9, your computer must have the following requirements:
• DirectX version 9. See "Checking DirectX Version" on page 69.
• Latest video card drivers. Contact your vendor for the latest version.
• Video card acceleration level set to use VMR9. Refer the video card documentation.
VMR9 or not. Even if you have attempted all of these remedies, your computer may still not fully support VMR9. This, however, will not adversely affect
your Slingbox viewing experience. VMR9 is not a required feature to use your Slingbox. SlingPlayer delivers excellent video quality with or without it.
Checking DirectX Version
DirectX is a collection of APIs for easily handling tasks related to
multimedia on Microsoft Windows.
To check the DirectX version:
1. Select Run from the Windows Start menu.
The Run window appears.
2. Type dxdiag and click OK.
The DirextX Diagnostic Tool appears.
3. In the System tab, note the DirectX version.
