An SPC analysis is easily carried out using SPC Setup Wizard (click
the Insight toolbar, or select Tools > Wizards from the menu). This guides you
through the following stages:
1. Select existing temperature profiles (paqfiles) on which the analysis will be
based.
2. Choose which analysis results you will examine, and set a target value and
acceptable limits for the results.
3. Insight then calculates the SPC results and displays them as a new graph in
the Graph Window, and as tabulated data in the Analysis Window.
For each probe, the value of each paqfile's chosen analysis parameter (on the
y-axis) is plotted against the data collection time of the paqfile (on the x-axis).
Any trend in the results over time can thus be identified and compared with
your specified target value and acceptable limits, which are shown on the graph
as horizontal lines.
Functions that can be performed on an SPC analysis include:
• Modify it by changing:
○ the files used for the analysis;
○ the analysis results examined;
○ the target value and acceptable limits for the results.
• Save the results for future display and analysis.
• Print a detailed report of the results: from the main menu, select File >
Print Options.
• Export the results for use in another software application.
• Email the full results.
Full guidance on using SPC is provided in Insight's online Help:
press function key F1, or select Help > Contents from the menu bar, and then in
the Help system select Data Analysis > Statistical Process Control.
For further features of the Insight software – particularly the use of process
