SOLID SURFACE
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Dear Customer,
firstly, we thank you for the confidence you have shown in us by purchasing a solid surface product. Solid surface is an innovative
material which top companies and outstanding designers have chosen, in particular for its soft touch e ect and beauty, which
resembles natural stone. Its technical superiority has added to its aesthetic quality. Whilst other materials used in this field remain
damaged if scratched or chipped, solid surface, although homogeneous throughout its thickness, can be restored using abrasive
sponges and commercially available cleaners.
Solid surface is a unique, technologically advanced composite material, consisting of a high percentage of natural mineral charges
and a low percentage of high purity polyester and acrylic polymers; it is an inert, non-toxic, recyclable and fireproof material, with
excellent resistance to UV rays. It is compact and non-porous, hygienic, durable and pleasant to the touch, thanks to its velvety
texture, similar to natural stone.
Solid surface is 100% restorable, which means it can be returned to its original appearance using a simple detergent and abrasive
sponge, to remove scratches, damage and signs of wear. Frequent cleaning of solid surface ensures the conservation of its original
beauty and also prevents signs of wear over time.
Solid surface is a composite e material, mainly comprised of minerals bonded with small percentages of resins.
DAILY MAINTENANCE
Caring for solid surface is quick and easy. It's su cient to clean solid surface with soapy water or a common household detergent to
remove the majority of stains and dirt that may be deposited on the surface. Gel or abrasive detergents (........., etc.), used with an
abrasive sponge like "Scotch Brite®", are particularly recommended.
Take care to rinse the surface thoroughly. This will help maintain the original matt finish that distinguishes solid surface. Rinse
thoroughly and clean regularly to prevent the build-up of dirt and limescale.
If you do not know how potentially aggressive a detergent is, test it on a small, hidden area before use.
HOW TO PREVENT DAMAGE
The surface has good resistance to stains in general. Nonetheless, avoid using aggressive chemical products such as acetone, trichlo-
roethylene, or strong acids or alkalies. Some substances, such as ink, cosmetics and dyes, as well as lit cigarettes, may leave stains or
marking on the solid surface; but these can all be removed by following the instructions below.
Do not use metal scrapers, iron brushes, blades, cutters or other metal domestic utensils to remove marks, paint, plaster or similar.
Avoid knocks and dropping objects on the product. Avoid thermal shocks: do not use hot water (above 55°C/130°F) and do not pour
boiling oil or liquids on the surface. Do not rest very hot objects, cigarettes or flames on the surface. Do not use direct hot steam to
clean the surface.
REMOVING TOUGH STAINS, SCRATCHES AND BURNS
Solid surface is a material that is homogeneous throughout its thickness and can therefore be repaired from surface damage includ-
ing scratches, cigarette burns and stubborn stains, restoring the surface to its original beauty (photo 2), simply by following these
instructions: for light damage, the surface can be restored using an abrasive Scotch-Brite® sponge (3M trademarked) and an abrasive
household cleaner. If the defect is still visible, repeat the rubbing using P320 grain sandpaper.
