The EDID Reader/Writer can emulate the EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) information of the attached video display. It stores and recalls a default EDID settings in non-volatile memory allowing your computer boot directly from EDID read/write. It can also read and store the EDID of your display and even let you modify the EDID and upload the modified EDID to displays.
Front View Monitor-DVI: Connect your display to CV-1001 here 5V DC power jack Red LED: Lights to indicate power on Green LED: Light to indicate to process of reading or writing EDIDs Rear Panel RS232: Link your computer with the reader/writer here in order to read/write EDIDs from/ to displays.
Button View Note: Please don’t plug DVI cable into PC-DVI connector when you are changing one mode to another. Mode Off Off Reserved mode, no use. Off On Recording: Connect the monitor to the DVI-monitor connector, once the recording process is completed, the EDID Reader/Writer has copied the EDID from the monitor into its flash memory and the green LED will turn off On On Writing default: Write the default EDID into unit to replace the existing EDID in the EDID Reader/Writer.

Before executing the software, please make sure: The power supply is well connected. DIP switches are at the right position as shown below. 1. Get started First, make sure of the correct setup, and click on Auto Scan ComPort (1). If the installation is accurate, the following pop-up message window will show up, indicating the serial port [9] is automatically detected and successfully connected.

If the error message as shown below appears, it means inappropriate setup occurs. Please do the check at the power supply and serial port connection. 2. Read EDID If users would like to read EDID information from the connected monitor, simply click on Read EDID (5).

4. DVI Monitor Write Executing DVI Monitor Write (7) might cause damage to your monitor’s EDID information. For instance, the sudden power surge or the disconnection of the serial port while updating EDID might result in incomplete update process. Therefore, the DVI Monitor Write (7) feature is not recommended to use.
2 years from the date of purchase from SIIG or any authorized dealer. Should this product fail to be in good working order within the 2 year warranty period, SIIG, at its option, will repair or replace the unit, provided that the unit has not been subjected to accident, disaster, abuse or any unauthorized modifications including static discharge and power surges.
