CARE AND CLEANING
Vacation and moving tips
Occasion Tips
Short
• Leave refrigerator operating during vacations of three weeks or less.
Vacations
• Use all perishable items from the refrigerator compartment.
• Turn off the automatic ice maker, and empty the ice bucket even if
you will only be gone a few days.
Long
• Remove all food and ice if you will be gone one month or more.
Vacations
• Turn the cooling system off (see CONTROLS AND SETTINGS for the
location of the On/Off button) and disconnect the power cord.
• Turn water supply valve to the closed position.
• Clean the interior thoroughly.
• Leave both doors open to prevent odors and mold build-up. Block
doors open if necessary.
Moving
• Unplug unit
• Remove all food and ice.
• Recommend use of a handcart, load from the side.
• Adjust rollers all the way up to protect them during sliding or moving.
• Pad cabinet to avoid scratching surface.

Tips and Precautions
Use two tablespoons of baking soda in one quart
of warm water. Be sure to wring excess water
out of the sponge or cloth before cleaning
around controls, light bulb or any electrical part.
Wipe gaskets with a clean soft cloth.
Use a soft cloth to clean drawer runners and tracks.
Allow glass to warm to room temperature
before immersing in warm water.
Vacuum dust from front of toe grille. Remove
toe grille (see INSTALLATION). Vacuum
backside, wipe with a sudsy cloth or sponge.
Rinse and dry.
Do not use commercial household cleaners
containing ammonia, bleach or alcohol to
clean handles. Use a soft cloth to clean
smooth handles. DO NOT use a dry cloth to
clean smooth doors.
Never use CHLORIDE or cleaners with
bleach to clean stainless steel.
Clean stainless steel front and handles with
non-abrasive soapy water and a dishcloth.
Rinse with clean water and a soft cloth.
Use a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner.
You can purchase these cleaners at most
home improvement or major department
stores. Always follow the manufacturer's
instructions. Do not use household cleaners
containing ammonia or bleach.
NOTE: Always clean, wipe and dry with the
grain to prevent scratching. Wash the rest of
the cabinet with warm water and mild liquid
detergent. Rinse well, and wipe dry with a
clean soft cloth.
