5 Unit installation
▪ Provide drain taps at all low points of the system to permit
complete draining of the circuit during maintenance or service to
the unit.
▪ Provide air purge valves at all high points of the system. The
valves shall be located at points which are easily accessible for
servicing.
The unit is equipped with a water inlet and water outlet for
connection to the water circuit. The water circuit must be provided by
an installer and must comply with the applicable legislation.
▪ Pipework shall be protected from physical damage.
NOTICE
The unit is ONLY to be used in a closed water system.
Application in an open water circuit can lead to excessive
corrosion of the water piping.
NOTICE
Make sure water quality complies with EU directive
2020/2184.
NOTICE
Use of glycol is allowed, but the amount shall NOT exceed
40% of the volume. A higher amount of glycol may cause
damage to the hydraulic components.
5.3.2

Connecting water piping

CAUTION
Always use valves to control water circulation in the unit. If
the fan coil unit is off, but water keeps circulating in the
unit, condensation will form on the unit and water may drip.
NOTICE
Make sure to insulate all piping. Any exposed piping might
cause condensation.

During filling, it might not be possible to remove all air in the system.
Remaining air can be removed during the first operating hours of the
unit. The air can be removed from the unit through the manual air
purge valve.
1 Open the air purge valve (refer to figure "Air purge valve") by
turning the nut 2 times.
2 Push the springy core (refer to figure "Air purge valve") to let off
superfluous air from the unit water circuit(s).
3 Tighten the nut.
4 Additional filling with water afterwards might be required (but
never through the air purge valve).
