10. Shutting Down the Implement

To shut down the implement, first bring the tractor to
a complete stop.
Park the tractor on a level surface, place the
transmission in park or neutral and apply the
parking brake, lower the attached implement to the
ground, shut down the engine, remove the key,
before exiting the tractor.

10.1 Aerator / Plugger Pre-Operation Inspection/Service

Before each use, a complete inspection and service is required to ensure the aerator or plugger is in good and
safe working condition. Damaged and/or broken parts should be repaired and/or replaced immediately. To
ensure the implement is ready for operation, conduct the following. OPS-A-0004
Always shut the Tractor completely down, place the transmission in park, and set the
parking brake before you or anyone else attempts to connect or disconnect the Implement
and Tractor hitches.
Pin parking stand into position and lower the implement to the ground with rockshaft control in position control.
Remove top link from mast, disconnect hitch arms from bottom pins and pull tractor away from implement.

11. STORAGE

Properly preparing and storing the plugger or aerator at the end of the season is critical to maintaining its
appearance and to help ensure years of dependable service. The following are suggested storage procedures:
Thoroughly clean all debris off the unit to prevent damage from rotting grass and standing water.
Lubricate all grease points as detailed in the maintenance section.
Tighten all bolts and pins to the recommended torque.
Check the unit for worn and damaged parts. Perform repairs and make replacements immediately so that
the unit will be ready for use at the start of the next season.
Store the unit in a clean, dry place resting securely on the level ground.
Use spray touch-up enamel where necessary to prevent rust and maintain the appearance of the unit.
Never allow children to play on or around Tractor or Implement. Children can slip or fall off
the Equipment and be injured or killed. Inadvertent contact with controls can cause the
Implement to shift or fall crushing themselves or others.
