Using the Remote Control

This section explains the buttons and features of the remote control, including the following:
Light and Component Buttons
VCR Function Buttons
TV Function Buttons
Cable Box or Satellite
Receiver Function Buttons

Light Button

Your back-lit remote has a light button (
Pressing this button lights the buttons on the remote, and the buttons
remain lit when a button is pressed within a few seconds of another. If
a button is not pressed within approximately eight seconds, the light
turns off to conserve battery power.

Component Buttons

Press one of the following buttons to set the remote to operate that
component:
AUX (Auxiliary)
Can be programmed to control a compatible RCA audio or ProScan,
RCA, or GE video component. (See page 23.)
SAT¥CABLE
Turns on a compatible RCA cable box or ProScan, RCA, or GE satellite
receiver. (See page 24.)
Used with PWR button to turn on another brand of cable box or
satellite receiver, other than ProScan, RCA, or GE, when the remote is
programmed to control that cable box. (See page 24.)
TV
Turns on a compatible ProScan, RCA, or GE TV and sets the remote to
control the TV. Used with PWR button to turn on another brand of TV,
other than ProScan, when the remote is programmed to control that
TV. (See page 23.)
VCR1
Turns on a compatible ProScan, RCA, or GE VCR and sets the remote
to control the VCR.
VCR2¥DVD
Turns on a compatible ProScan, RCA, or GE VCR and sets remote to
control VCR when it has been setup. Used with PWR button to turn on
compatible ProScan or RCA Laserdisc Player.
Can also be programmed to control a compatible RCA DVD
component. (See page 22.)
