Fan Tray LEDs
The fan tray LEDs are located on the lower right portion of the module. The following table describes the
possible states for each of these LEDs.

Temperature exceeds the major alarm threshold.

The module is not receiving power.

The management port is not linked up.
Flashing green
The module is transmitting or receiving.
Off
The module is not transmitting or receiving.
Color
Status
Blue
The operator has activated this LED to identify this module in the chassis.
Off
This module is not being identified.
Green
The fan tray is operational.
Red
One or more fans in this fan tray has failed.
Off
No power is going to the fan tray. Verify that the even numbered fabric slot (FM
2, FM 4, or FM 6) behind the fan tray has one of the following in order to power
the fan tray:
• Functioning fabric module (N9K-C9508-FM, N9K-C9508-FM-E,
N9K-C9508-FM-R, or N9K-C9508-FM-S)
• Fabric blank module with fan tray power connector (N9K-C9508-FM-Z)
