Use with Magstim Rapid²
1. When the coil is connected to the stimulator and ready to use, remove the coil from the coil
holder of the right hand side of the stimulator*. The coil will show the output power of the system
on the multi-function display*.
2. Set the desired protocol on the Rapid² UI.
3. Use one of the multi-function buttons* to charge the system by engaging the button and holding it
for two seconds. The coil's ready indicator* will illuminate when the system has charged to the
correct level and is ready to deliver the stimulus.
4. Position the coil over the desired target; Figure 6.3 (90mm) and 6.4 (D70) shows the peak
stimulation points of each coil.
5. Engage both multi-function buttons* at the same time to trigger the stimulator and deliver the
stimulus.
A clicking noise should be heard from both the remote control coil and the stimulator.
6. When necessary, reposition the coil and/or modify the protocol to suit requirements for the next
stimulus. Meanwhile, the stimulator will recharge and the coil's ready indicator* will be illuminated
when charging is complete.
7. At the end of the session, use the stop button* on the remote control coil to disarm the stimulator
and place the coil back into the coil holder on the stimulator*.
8. Section 4.2 should be repeated in reverse to disconnect the coil.
Note: Ensure that the system is disarmed prior to disconnecting the stimulating coil from the
stimulator
4.3.4
Use of the Standard Coil with Magstim 200², BiStim² and Rapid²
1. When the coil is connected to the stimulator and ready to use, select the desired stimulator output
power/ protocol using the stimulator UI.
Use the stimulator UI to arm the system. The coil's ready indicator* will illuminate when the

system has charged to the correct level and is ready to deliver the stimulus.
3. Remove the coil from the coil holder of the right hand side of the stimulator* and position the coil
over the desired target. Peak stimulation points of the coil can been seen in figures in Section 6.
4. Engage an interlock button in conjunction with either a footswitch or the stimulator UI trigger
button to trigger the stimulator and deliver the stimulus.
