The coil temperature indicator will be illuminated when the coil surface temperature has reached
the maximum limit. If this symbol is illuminated, the coil should be removed from the subject and
allowed to cool.
3.4.2
Standard Coil
Figure 3.7 shows the different parts of the standard coils' user interface and the descriptions that
follow explain their various functions.

3.4.2.1
The Standard Coil has two interlock buttons located on each side of its handle. The roles of the
interlock buttons are to prevent inadvertent triggering of the system.
Note: On no account must either of the multi-function buttons on the stimulating coil be permanently
activated, by taping down, or any other method of fixing. They are designed as a safety interlock, to
disable them could result in a serious injury as a result of an inadvertent discharge of the coil.
3.4.2.2
The ready indicator will be illuminated when the stimulator is charged and ready to deliver the
stimulus.
3.4.2.3
The coil temperature indicator will be illuminated when the coil surface temperature has reached
the maximum limit. If this symbol is illuminated, the coil should be removed from the subject and
allowed to cool.
