General Warnings
Warning: The operation of Powerchair can
endanger the life of the driver or third parties. Any
driver should always be fully capable of operating
this Powerchair safely.
Warning: Sitting for long periods may increase the
chance of thromboses or pressure sores. Users
prone to such conditions are advised to take
medical advice.
Warning: The Rascal Rhythm SL Powerchair has
been designed and tested for users with weights up
to those in the Technical Specification. This weight
should never be exceeded.
Warning: Do not exceed the specification; do not
modify this Powerchair or use it other than as a
Powerchair.
Warning: Passengers, including children and
animals, should never be carried. Animals should
never be tethered to the Powerchair.
Warning: Electromagnetic interference may affect
the driving of this Powerchair:
• Do not operate devices such as CB radios or
mobile phones while the Powerchair is switched
on.
• Avoid getting close to transmitter masts, such as
television and radio stations.
If the Powerchair ever starts to operate by itself
switch it off, cease using and report this incident to
the Dealer.
Warning: The operation of any Powerchair may
affect sensitive electronic circuits such as alarm
systems or automatic doors in shops.
Driving
Before driving, refer to Driving the Powerchair
section in this manual.
Warning:
Ambient
Operating
Range. Do not use the Powerchair in temperatures
outside
the
range
stated
specifications section of this manual. Driving in very
hot, very cold or icy conditions, as can make driving
more hazardous.

Warning: Freewheel Device/Mode. Before getting
on the Powerchair always check that the freewheel
levers are in the Drive position. When the freewheel
levers are in the freewheel position, the main
brakes on the Powerchair will not function. Extra
care should be taken with the Powerchair when it is
in freewheel mode as it could move without
warning. Never sit on or try to ride the Powerchair
when it is in freewheel mode as serious injury or
death may result.
NEVER SIT ON THE POWERCHAIR WHEN IN
FREEWHEEL MODE.
Warning: Transferring On and Off. Do not
attempt to get on or off the Powerchair unless it is
switched off, at rest, and on a stable, level surface.
Never get on or off on a hill or slope.
Warning: Damage. Before driving off, check the
Powerchair for damage, particularly that which
could affect the controls, wheels, freewheel
function and/ or drive motor.
Warning: Footplates. Before switching on the
Powerchair, always make sure that the feet are
safely on the footplate. If you drive with the feet still
on the ground, they could become trapped under
the Powerchair and serious injury may result. Never
stand on the foot plate in motion. Do not carry
objects on the footplates as they may become lose
and become a hazard to safety.
ALWAYS
STOW
VERTICALLY WHEN NOT IN USE to prevent
damage and injury to others.
Warning: Armrests. Do not use the armrests as a
support when getting in or out of the Powerchair.
Make sure the armrests are lowered and secure
before you start off otherwise you may fall out.
Never drive without armrests fitted.
Warning: Seat. Always drive the Powerchair with
the seat-back in upright position.
Warning: Entanglement. Do not wear clothing or
carry items on the Powerchair that could become
entangled in wheels or other moving parts whilst
operating the Powerchair. Severe injury may result.
Warning: Battery Charge Level. Before driving
off, always check the battery indicator. If you are in
any doubt, ensure all the batteries are fully charged
before starting on a journey. DO NOT operate the
Powerchair with depleted batteries.
