Transferring In & Out of
the Powerchair
If you feel at all uncertain about getting in or out of
the Powerchair seek assistance with an attendant.
TRANSFERRING IN TO THE POWERCHAIR
Ensure that -
1. The Powerchair is on a level surface, and it is
not in FREEWHEEL mode.
2. The brakes are engaged - try to push the
Powerchair a little to verify that the brakes are
working.
3. Seat Lift is at the lowest position
4. Seat and locked in position. Check the seat
cannot be rotated.
5. Joystick Controller is switched off before
trying to get into the Powerchair
6. Footrests are in the Vertical position as would
obstruct access.
7. Armrests are down and secured.
8. Sitting. User to sit with back to the seat, stabilise
with the armrests if practical and lower gently into
the seat. Do not put undue weight on the Armrests.
TRANSFERRING
POWERCHAIR
Ensure that -
1. The Powerchair is on a level surface, and it is
not in FREEWHEEL mode.
2. The brakes are engaged - try to push the
Powerchair a little to verify that the brakes are
working.
3. Seat Lift is at the lowest position
4. Seat and locked in position. Check the seat
cannot be rotated.
5. Joystick Controller is switched off before
trying to get into the Powerchair.
6. Footrests are in the Vertical position as would
obstruct access.

THE
7. Armrests are down and secured.
8. Exiting the Chair. Position feet either side of the
raised footplate. Use the armrest to take user weight
and carefully attempt to stand and do not put undue
weight on the Armrests
If you feel uncertain about getting out, seek
assistance.
Warning!
User or Attendant should NEVER
stand on either footplate at any time, being
stationary or whilst moving. The powerchair
could become unstable and lose control
resulting in injury.

Operation

Before you set out, do check the weather forecast.
We suggest that you make sure you are wearing
suitable clothing, whether the journey is long or
short. Remember that you can become wet and
cold. Suitable clothes should always be worn. A high
visibility jacket should be considered if you are in
poor visibility. Remember not to use the Powerchair
in poor light or darkness
If you are taking medication check with your
doctor or physician that your ability to control the
Powerchair will not be impaired and do not drink
alcohol and operate.
Only use the Powerchair for the purpose its
intended for. Do not drive through water or on
slippery surfaces; do not transport more than one
person; do not tow other vehicles or carry excess
weight.
1. Before sitting in the Powerchair, check both the
freewheel levers are not in the Freewheel position.
Only the attendant to operate the Freewheel
levers.
2. Check the battery charger is disconnected.
3. Check the backrest is upright.
4. Ensure feet are securely on the footrest and
redundant footrest is in the vertical position.
5. Check you have adjusted the seat as instructed
in this manual – get comfortable and secure the seat
belt.
