Installation and connecting
NOTICE
Read the SIMATIC S7-4100, Controller system manual
Prior to installation, connecting and commissioning, read the corresponding sections in the
"SIMATIC S7-4100 system manual"; see /2/ (Page 41).
Make sure that the power supply is turned off when installing/uninstalling the devices.
Installation in the SIMATIC S7-4100 system is possible in the following variants:
• Via bus module in the rack
• Via U-connector
For information on the permitted slots of CPs, refer to the section Slots of the CP (Page 27).
Procedure for installation and connection

When installing and connecting, follow the description for installing communications processors in the "SIMATIC
S7-4100 system manual".

Connect the CP to PROFIBUS via the RS485 socket.
For the assignment of the interface, see section PROFIBUS interface terminal assignment (Page 32).

Turn on the power supply.

Close the front panel of the module and keep it closed during operation.
The remaining steps in commissioning involve downloading the PCS neo configuration data,
see section Commissioning (Page 25).

Connection: Slots and modules

Connectors
The respective modules are connected to one another via the connections of the slots and
the modules of the SIMATIC S7-4100.
The connections on the different modules are the same.
