2.5 mm mini-jack input socket for accepting a 0.5 V to 1.5 V signal from an external
generator. The signal from the external generator is reproduced in the coupler only, when
selected. In this configuration, the frequency response of the sound pressure in the coupler
is governed directly by the inverse frequency response of the reference microphone in the
coupler. (see section 3.11)

AC Out:
2.5 mm mini-jack output socket for picking up the signal otherwise sent to the coupler. The
only difference here is that the signal (505 μs pulses) for checking crest factor handling will
have crest factor of 10 instead of 3. Free-field response corrections are still applied. The
insertion of a mini-jack plug will automatically isolate the coupler from Type 4226. The
output signal from here is for checking the electronic functions of the sound level meter from
the point of the microphone input
