3.1

Environmental Conditions

Type 4226 operates properly in temperatures ranging from –10 to +50 °C (+14 to 122 °F) and in
conditions of up to 90% relative humidity (tested at 30 ° C). The tolerances specified in Appendix
A are ensured at 20 °C (68 °F) and 1013 hPa.
Before switching the instrument on, allow adequate time for any accumulated condensation to clear.
3.2

Battery Installation

Type 4226 is powered by four 1.5 V (IEC type LR6) alkaline cells (item no. QB-0013). Fresh alkaline
cells will provide approximately 10 hours of operation and should be changed as soon as the
Batt. Low LED on the front panel lights up.

To load and/or change the batteries:
1) Push in the lock on the side of the battery compartment and slide the drawer out (Fig.3.1).
2) Replace the exhausted cells with fresh cells observing carefully the correct polarity shown at
the base of each cell compartment.
3) Slide the battery drawer back again until its locks into position.
