4.1
Storage and Handling
The storage temperature of Type 4226 without a battery is from –25 to +70 °C (–13 to +158 °F).
Exposure to rapid changes of humidity and temperature should be avoided. Before switching the
instrument on, allow adequate time for any accumulated condensation to clear.
Type 4226 is a precision instrument and should be treated as such. Reliable calibrations will be
assured by isolating it (in particular its coupler) from external shocks and vibrations.
4.2
Service
Type 4226 is designed and constructed to provide you with many years of reliable operation.
However, should a fault occur that impairs its correct function, then its internal battery should be
removed to prevent risk of further damage.
For repair, contact your local Brüel & Kjær service representative. Under no circumstances should
repair be attempted by persons not qualified in the service of electronic instrumentation.
4.2.1
Calibration
Type 4226 must be recalibrated periodically at least once per year by an authorised Brüel & Kjær
representative or by a recognised standards laboratory or institution.
