Keep the noise emissions and vibrations to a
minimum.
Only use appliances which are in perfect wor-
king order.
Service and clean the appliance regularly.
Adapt your working style to suit the appliance.
Do not overload the appliance.
Have the appliance serviced whenever ne-
cessary.
Switch the appliance off when it is not in use.
Wear protective gloves.
Caution!
Residual risks
Even if you use this electric power tool in
accordance with instructions, certain resi-
dual risks cannot be rules out. The following
hazards may arise in connection with the
equipment's construction and layout:
1. Cut injuries are possible if no protective
clothing is used.
2. Lung damage if no suitable protective dust
mask is used.
3. Damage to hearing if no suitable ear protec-
tion is used.
4. Health damage caused by hand-arm vib-
rations if the equipment is used over a pro-
longed period or is not properly guided and
maintained.

5. Before starting the equipment

Before you connect the equipment to the mains
supply make sure that the data on the rating plate
are identical to the mains data.
Warning!
Always pull the power plug before making
adjustments to the equipment.
Warning! Do not connect the chainsaw to the po-
wer supply until it has been fully assembled and
the chain tension has been adjusted. Always wear
protective gloves when working on the chainsaw
to protect yourself against injury. Carefully unpack
all parts and check that they are complete.
5.1 Fitting the extension tube and the saw
unit
Depending on the height you need to reach, you
can use the electric pole pruner with or without
the extension tube (Fig. 2/Item 11).

5.1.1 Fitting the extension tube (Fig. 3a-3b)
a) Slacken the fastening screw (Item 10) at the
tube mount (Item 9) of the motor unit (Fig. 2/
Item 14).
b) Insert the extension tube (Item 11) into the
tube mount (Item 9) on the motor unit.
c) Pull the spring-loaded bolt ring (Item 9b) and
push the extension tube (Item 11) a distance
of approx. 45 mm into the tube mount (Item
9). Let go of the spring-loaded bolt ring (Item
9b).
d) Turn the extension tube (Item 11) until you
hear the spring-loaded bolt (Item 9a) latch in
the locking hole (Item 11a). To secure, tighten
the fastening screw (Item 10) again.
5.1.2 Fitting the saw unit (Fig. 4)
To fi t the saw unit (Fig. 2/Item 1) on the extension
tube (Fig. 2/Item 11), proceed as described in
section 5.1.1. Fig. 4 shows the saw unit when fully
fi tted.
To dismantle the extension tube and the saw unit,
proceed in reverse order.
If you do not need the extension tube (Fig. 2/Item
11), fi t the saw unit (Fig. 2/Item 1) directly on the
motor unit (Fig. 2/Item 14). Proceed with the fi tting
as described in section 5.1.1.
5.2 Fitting the cutter rail and the saw chain
(Fig. 5-7)
1. Use the multifunction tool size 13/4mm (Item
22) to remove the fastening screw for the
chain wheel cover (Item 20).
2. Remove the chain wheel cover.
3. Lay the saw chain (Item 13) in the groove
which runs around the cutter rail (Item 12).
4. Insert the cutter rail (Item 12) and the saw
chain (Item 13) into the mount of the pole
chain saw. At the same time guide the saw
chain around the chain wheel (Item 1a) and
hook the cutter rail into the chain tensioning
bolt (Item 1b).
5. Fit the chain wheel cover and tighten the fas-
tening screw hand-tight.
Note: Do not fully tighten the fastening screw until
after you have adjusted the chain tension (see
section 5.3).
