Troubleshooting

Problem
The camera cannot be
turned on.
The camera cannot take
pictures
The flash doesn't fire
Image is blurry or out of
focus
Image is not displayed on
the LCD monitor
Recorded images are not
saved in memory
Cannot transfer images to a
computer after connecting
the USB cable
Cause
Batteries are inserted in the wrong
direction
Batteries are dead
The battery compartment door is open
The flash is charging
Memory is full
SD card is not formatted correctly
Maximum file number is exceeded
Flash is set to OFF
The camera was moving when the
image was captured
The subject was beyond the range
within which the camera can focus
An SD Card with non-DCIF images
(recorded with another camera) is
loaded
The camera was turned off/powered
down before the image was stored in
memory
USB driver is not installed

Solution
Reload the batteries properly (p.8).
Replace or recharge the batteries
Make sure the battery compartment
door is securely closed.
Wait until the flash is fully charged.
Insert a new SD card.
The card may be defective, use a new
card.
Turn "File No. Reset" on, then format
the card or insert a new card.
Set the flash to any mode except off.
Hold
the
camera
steady
shooting picture.
Turn the Macro mode on if the subject
is within 10 cm (zoomed out) or 50 cm
(zoom in) / don't use Macro mode
when shooting distant subjects.
This camera cannot display non-DCIF
images.
If the Battery Low indicator appears
on the LCD monitor, replace the
battery immediately.
Install the USB driver before you
connect the camera to a computer /
turn the camera on.
