Materials Supplied by Installer

Installation of the Connect-IWS System equipment requires additional equipment and
materials supplied by the installer. The following list is a guideline only, and additional
materials may be required based on local conditions at each installation site.

Installation Guidelines

Table 19: Installation: Installer Supplied Materials

The equipment cabinet must be rated for adequate protection against
ingress of water, dust, etc. and accommodate the size and heating/cooling
requirements of the Connect system. The following features are required:
- Ground block for grounding equipment, shielding on conductive cables,
and lightning protection devices
- DIN mounting rail with adequate spacing for equipment
- Weatherproof port glands for the Ethernet and power cables
- Security locking device to restrict access
- Fused terminal blocks and surge protection for power input
The cabinet mast must be rated for weight and wind loading of the
equipment cabinet and wiring. The mast must be adequately grounded.
The antenna mast must be rated for weight and wind loading of the
selected antenna. The mast must be adequately grounded.
The installer must provide 10-30 VDC power to the cabinet for operation of
the Connect system equipment. PoE power injector terminal block accepts
12-22 AWG wire.
Materials for securing cables to the masts, protecting cables from
abrasion, etc. including suggested weatherproofing materials:
Scotch 2200 series of vinyl mastic rolls
Scotch 130C linerless rubber splicing tape
3M Scotch super 88 electrical tape
The site installation must include a master grounding system to be used
with all Connect equipment. The wire gage must meet recommended
industry standards and include eye terminals for secure connection to
Connect system equipment.
i) Precision set of screwdrivers, cutter pliers, and other common
installation tools.
ii) Portable computer for initial Connect-IWS System configuration.
iii) A CAT-5e RJ-45 jumper cable to connect the Connect-IWS to the PC.
