4. Remove the
wireless
card.
About this task
NOTE:
The wireless antennas are attached to the speakers as an assembly and cannot be separated for individual
replacement. When the speakers or the wireless antennas need to be replaced, services will dispatch both the speakers
and the wireless antennas as a single serviceable component.
The following image(s) indicate the location of the speakers and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
1. Open the latch and disconnect the touchpad cable from its connector on the system board.
2. Move the touchpad cable off the speaker cable.
3. Disconnect the keyboard cable from its connector on the system board.
4. Disconnect the keyboard-backlight cable from its connector on the system board.
5. Disconnect the speakers cable from its connector on the system board.
6. Peel the tapes that secure the speaker cables and the antenna cables to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
7. Remove the speaker cables and the antenna cables from the routing guides on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
8. Lift the speakers along with the speaker cables and the antenna cables off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
NOTE:
The antenna cables are a part of the speakers.
