Part names and functions

The various parts of the sewing machine have the functions described below.

The amount of pressure applied by the presser foot can be
adjusted by turning the presser foot pressure adjustment knob.
Turning the knob toward "–" reduces the amount of pressure
applied by the presser foot.
When sewing stretch or thin fabrics, slightly reduce the
pressure for best results.
For normal sewing, set the knob at "3".
Lower the feed dog for free motion
sewing (e.g. free motion embroidery or
quilting).
For normal sewing, move the lever to the
right to raise the feed dog.
For free motion sewing, move the drop
feed lever to the left to lower the feed
dog.
Pull out the accessory
compartment in the direction
of the arrow.
When sewing, lower the presser foot lever to lower the
