Press SYNC REC repeatedly to select
"CD t MD", then press PUSH
ENTER.
The MD deck stands by for recording and the
CD is in pause for playback.
If you use an MD with tracks already
recorded on it, the MD deck automatically
locates the end of the recorded portion and
starts the new recording from there.

When "PUSH ENTER!" flashes, press
PUSH ENTER.
Recording starts from the last recorded
portion of the MD. The CD player and the
MD deck stop automatically when the
recording is completed.

In step 10, press HIGH SPEED CD-MD SYNC.

The MD and the CD automatically stop.
N ot e s
• If the MD is record protected, "C11" and
"Protected" appears in the display alternately and
the MD cannot be recorded on. Press A and remove
the MD, slide the record protection tab to the closed
position (see page 37), reinsert the MD and try
again.
• If you insert a pause during programming, no sound
is recorded in the paused section (see page 66).

The system automatically locates the end of any
recorded portion of an MD and starts recording
from that point.

Insert a recordable MD.

Press FUNCTION repeatedly until the
source you want to record appears in the
display.
• CD: Insert a CD. To start from a specific
track, create a program (see
"Programming the CD tracks" on page
28).
• Radio: Tune in the preset station you want
(See "Listening to the radio" on page 20).
• Tape: Insert a tape with the side you want
to play facing forward.
When you want to record from optional AV
components, see "Optional components" on
page 84.
