Recording on a tape
manually
You can record from a CD, MD, tape, or radio as
you like. For example, you can record just the
songs you want or record from the middle of the
tape. The recording level is adjusted
automatically.

Insert a recordable tape into deck B.

Press FUNCTION repeatedly until the
source you want to record appears.
• CD: Insert a CD. To start from a specific
track, create a program (See
"Programming the CD tracks" on page
28).
• MD: Insert a MD. To start from a specific
track, create a program (See

"Programming the MD tracks" on page
34).
• Tape: Insert a tape with the side you want
to play facing forward.
• Radio: Tune in the preset station you want
(See "Listening to the radio" on page 20).
When you want to record from optional AV
components, see "Optional components" on
page 84.

Press TAPE REC PAUSE/START.
Deck B stands by for recording. The
TAPE B N indicator (for front side) lights.

Press MODE SELECT repeatedly to
select "Set Up Mode", then press PUSH
ENTER.

Move the multi stick toward b or B
repeatedly to select "TAPE Set Up ?",
then press PUSH ENTER.

Move the multi stick toward b or B
repeatedly to select "Direction Set

Up ?", then press PUSH ENTER.

Move the multi stick toward b or B
repeatedly to select "1 Way" to record
on one side, or "Cycle" (or "Relay") to
record on both sides, then press PUSH
ENTER.
