SECTION 6 TROUBLESHOOTING

Incomplete data set
Negative data points
Incorrect data point (>1000)
Bubbles between tubing and cap
Inconsistent stirring
Records consistently low or high
values
Fan not working

6.1 Adjusting the Calibration

If the instrument records consistently high or low values for the
accuracy check in Section 3.3, it may be necessary to adjust the
calibration as follows:
1. To enter the calibration mode, all channels must read END.
2. Simultaneously press and hold channel numbers 3 and 4. The
calibration screen will appear on the display. The screen will
show a channel number, the channel's calibration value (Cal
Factor), and a current reading (Reading).
3. To change from one channel to the next, press the number for
the next desired channel.

Suggestion
Clear buffer.
Check temperature settings.
Re-enter commands (see Table 4 on
page14). For example:
1. Select channel (i.e., S1).
2. Type "GA" to start data transfer.
Re-seal with plastic tie-wrap.
Lift bottle and reposition on
instrument.
See section 6.1 Adjusting the
Calibration.
Discontinue use. Contact the Hach
Service Department.
